Lido Burrone beach in Favignana
3 min read

Lido Burrone is one of Favignana’s best-loved beaches: fine white sand, crystal-clear water and the choice between a free beach and full facilities. It is just a few minutes from the village and the easiest option for anyone travelling with children. Here is everything you need to know before you go.
A crescent-shaped sandy beach
Lido Burrone is a wide, crescent-shaped sandy bay on the island’s south coast. The pale sand is framed by flat rocks, perfect for sunbathing in peace.
What really catches the eye, though, is the sea: turquoise and emerald shades and transparent water make it one of Favignana’s most photographed beaches.
Comfort and facilities
Lido Burrone is one of the few equipped beaches on the island. Alongside stretches of free beach, in season there are beach clubs with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, toilets and refreshment points for a snack or a lunch with a sea view.
Sporty types can enjoy the bay from a different angle thanks to kayak and SUP rentals, which are widely available on the island.
The best beach for children
Lido Burrone is considered Favignana’s most family-friendly beach, for two main reasons:
- Shallow, sandy seabed: the water deepens gently, so even little ones can play safely near the shore.
- Facilities close at hand: toilets, showers and bars make the day easier, from nappy changes to an afternoon ice cream.
Location and how to get there
The beach is about 1.8 km south of the village: it is easy to reach on foot, by bike or by scooter, along a pleasant route between Mediterranean scrub and sea. See all options on our getting around Favignana page, as well as bike and e-bike rentals.
By car, once out of the village head south along Via Circonvallazione, then Via Calamoni, and turn towards Punta Marsala. There are parking areas nearby, but in high season they fill up quickly. If you are still planning your trip, read our guide on how to get to Favignana.
Practical tips for your visit
Book your umbrella in advance
In July and August beach club spots sell out quickly: if you want an umbrella and sunbed, it is worth booking a few days ahead.
Arrive early
The early morning hours are the quietest: parking is easy and you can enjoy the beach before the crowds arrive.
Check the wind
Besides the sun, look at the wind direction: Lido Burrone is at its best with north-westerly, north-easterly and easterly winds. Check the Favignana weather to plan your day.
Stay for the sunset
The beach faces south-west: on many days the sun sets over the sea with spectacular colours. It is worth staying until evening.
