Frequently asked questions

How do you get to Favignana?

Only by sea: by hydrofoil or ferry from Trapani and by hydrofoil from Marsala. There are no direct flights to the island.

How long is the crossing?

The hydrofoil is faster than the ferry. The actual duration of each sailing is shown in the operator's official timetables and in the live departures on this page.

Can I bring my car to Favignana?

Yes, only by ferry and on sailings that allow vehicle loading. Distances on the island are short and a car is rarely necessary.

Trapani or Marsala: which is better?

Trapani has more sailings and is the main port for the Egadi. Marsala is convenient if you arrive from the south of the province, with generally fewer sailings.

What happens if the sea is rough?

The operator may delay, suspend or cancel the sailing. Live departures show the updated status and it is best to check official notices before setting off.
